Twitter wants to make it easier for you to find great content on its app. To do this, the platform is consolidating a number of its search and discovery features into a new tab on its mobile toolbar. The company announced Thursday that it’s replacing its Moments tab with a new one called Explore, which will feature Moments, search, trending hashtags and featured live videos all in the same place.
The news not only signals that Moments (introduced in 2015 with almost no data released since launch around user uptake) has failed to live up to the ‘game-changing’ hype Twitter anticipated; but further indicates the scale of innovation the platform is undertaking to combat a decline in active users, leading agencies and brands alike to invest less ad spend.
