One in five Facebook videos is Live as it seizes the verb

Facebook has announced that one-fifth of the videos shared on its network are now Live videos, and has also seen the Live broadcasting daily watch time grow 4x in the past year. This surge demonstrates that the platforms efforts to own the verb “Live” and engender a behavioral shift of its users, to pick-up live streaming, are now paying off. With this level of uptake, Facebook is looking to cement itself as the place for Live broadcasts, and while there are concerns around censorship of content posted Live, Facebook is confident that usership will only continue to grow.
