People using Facebook Live for NYE celebrations tripled December’s daily average

More than 10 million Facebook users globally welcomed in the the New Year by going Live on the social networking site.

As AdWeek this week reported, ‘New Year’s Eve 2017 provided yet more evidence of how mainstream live streaming via social networks has become, up 47 percent from the previous year’.

Of note for brands and marketers alike is how tapping into cultural landmarks across Live social is not only a great way to achieve cut-through, but moreover how the likes of Facebook and Instagram Live can be effective ways to engage younger consumers who are already actively sharing in real time during big moments throughout the year.
